FAQ

What is the engine's license?

Use of the engine is free for non-commercial purposes. If you want to use AGen for commercial projects, you have to pay a one time fee of $200. Please contact us to discuss the details.

Is it cross platform?

Yes, the engine has already been ported to the Mac, Linux and iOS.

How long has AGen been around?

The project was started in 2005 although the first public version was released at the end of 2007.

Is AGen open source?

No. AGen is a closed source project and we have no plans of releasing source code to the public at the moment.

Can I build/use custom binary Lua extensions with AGen?

Not at the moment since AGen uses a modified version of Lua. One difference, for example is that numbers are represented with floats instead of doubles.

What does "AGen" mean?

The project was initially called Agenoria. Prior to release, we decided to shorten it to AGen.
